The PDAgent 164 is developed for on-site PD diagnosis for extra long HV and EHV power cables in combination with the OWTS HV systems. The partial discharge monitoring technology PDAgent 164 solution is based on several years of applied investigation in the field of on-site PD diagnosis of power cables.
The PDAgent 164 is a distributed measurement solution based on the latest signal processing and communication technology to detect and to evaluate radio frequency (RF) signals as generated by discharging insulation defects in cable accessories in all types of high voltage (HV) and extra high voltage (EHV) power cables.
The system consists of autonomous operating PD detection and interpretation units. As a distributed measurement system, each PDAgent unit is by definition as close as possible to its measurement source. This optimizes the transport of delicate analogue signals to a minimum, therefore minimizing noise and external disturbances and maximizing signal coupling. |
